Bed and Breakfast near Longleat Safari Park
This five-star rated day out is an easy half hour drive from Dewberry Cottage, so you need look no further if you're planning a visit! There is so much to see and do at Longleat that you could even buy a two-day ticket and visit on a Saturday and a Sunday to give yourself plenty of time to take everything in.
Set in the beautiful 9,000 acre grounds of Longleat House, the Safari Park was the first of its kind outside Africa, offering visitors the unique opportunity to drive through vast enclosures where animals could roam freely. The East African Reserve is home to the majestic giraffe and zebra, while the monkey drive-thru is an altogether more lively experience! You can visit the cheetahs, the elephants, and the lions too, or go and see the gorillas in their lakeside retreat.
But Longleat isn't just about the African savannah, with the new Stingray Bay and Penguin Island attractions recently opening. See the penguins gliding through the water or waddling over the land, or catch one of the daily talks or feeding sessions. Or, if you're feeling a little braver, there's always the opportunity to hold a snake or a tarantula!
Regular shows and events happen at the park too, so it's worth checking in advance to see if there's anything in particular you'd like to see before you visit. Parrot shows, tours of the house, acrobatics, theatre performances, and fireworks shows happen all year round.
So why not make a weekend of it? Our homely bed and breakfast near Longleat is the perfect retreat for a night or two, at an ideal location to visit the park.
